The Economy and YOU in Charlotte North Carolina (The 2nd Hurdle)
Tuesday, March 31st, 2009(This is part of an ongoing series about how YOU, a resident of Charlotte North Carolina or any other place in the country, can become debt free and financially independent using a simple plan and process known as the Total Money Makeover. You can review the previous posts to catch up on everything you have missed.)
Like I said in yesterday’s post, we are ALMOST ready to dive into Dave Ramsey’s 7 steps to a Total Money Makeover, but before we do there are just two more hurdles for us to jump! Yesterday we talked about the first hurdle = Ignorance. If you missed it you can simply scroll back and read it.

Hurdle #2: Keeping Up with the Joneses – The Joneses Can’t Do Math
Try to remember that funny little phrase every time you see your neighbor, friend, or co-worker come home with a new car or new suit… “The Joneses can’t do math.”
Also remember this = radical change is required for a money breakthrough. If we are not doing well financially then obviously we have to radically change our habits.
Dave Ramsey always says it a little stronger than I do, so let me quote him: “Continuing to do the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.”
Basically we all have to decide to really go for it and we can’t hang on to ANY of the myths we have discussed in the previous posts or it won’t work.
